Meet our Executive Director
Gerald Peregord
Jerry Peregord spent 35 years in Michigan public school education before becoming the Associate Executive Director, and presently Executive Director of School Equity Caucus. Over the years his public education involvement included positions of coach, teacher, counselor, principal, and 14 years as superintendent.
His professional involvements include Michigan Association of School Administrators Representative Council and Legislation Committee, Wayne County Superintendents Association, Tri-County Alliance for Education, Family Services Network of Branch County, Branch County Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee, and Michigan Department of Education Teacher Quality Criteria Committee, as well as serving on various community and professional boards.
For most of his career Jerry has had an interest in state and federal rules and regulations, and the affect of legislation to fund local school districts. The transition from education practitioner to education advocate came naturally.
As Executive Director he has maintained his deeply held belief that education should be equally accessible to every child; when every school is held to the same set of standards every school should have the same adequate resources.
